Hello! My name is Miss Akins, and I am so excited to be your student's teacher this school year. I graduated from Stanhope Elmore High School in 2008. I worked for almost ten years as a registered nurse after graduating from AUM with my Bachelor's degree in 2012. I always knew one day I would go back to school to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher, and I graduated with my Master's in Elementary Education in 2021. This will be my fourth year teaching at CES, and kindergarten is my favorite grade in the world!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, writing, and watching the Alabama Crimson Tide. I am also the head coach for the JV Cheerleading team at SEHS and the assistant coach for the varsity squad. GO MUSTANGS!
